DECOMIKU LIVE and 876 PRODUCTION FES results came in to my inbox minutes apart, so my next Japan trip is shaping up to be February. Snow Miku details are coming in soon too, so I'm hoping to rope that in and finally get up to Sapporo. There's not much rhyhme to what events get scheduled for Snow MikuーI'm hoping for another Digital Stars like 2024, though there are always fan eventsーbut I'll be glad to take some snaps of the wrapped streetcar. If anything, it should be nice to see the snow sculptures before global warming kills us all.

TETO LIVE 2026 is also on my radar now that it lines up with Chokaigi. Pony Canyon was supposed to implement SMS verification for accounts starting October 1st, but it looks like they've pushed this back for tech difficulties. I managed to get in my application, but it does worry me what may happen come April 1st next year as my Japanese number had to be fudged for registration (mobile phones are typically 11 digits, though some SIMs including mine map to the 10 digits expected of a landline). 2025 was through eplus, a cakewalk over other options, though I do also rememeber management was willing to walk overseas users through getting tickets in the crowdfunder. Mysteries abound.

Still working on wrapping up a lot of this past anime season. "Triumph" feels like a word that keeps running through mind specifically as it applies to New Panty & Stocking and CITY. By any measure, these are shows that went through hell to get made, and that both manage to wrestle any amazing highs leaves me a little awed. Someone on the Bluesky elders council was shown market research saying growth is stagnant because they only quarter liberal scolds, freaked out about missing an interest payment, and tried to post through it. This also brought to light possibly the funniest reanimation of a corpse I could imagine, with fresh mangosteen. Let the record show I was part of the posting strike before it was cool.
